Andreas Pilarinos

Andreas Pilarinos, MPP, is a Research Assistant with the At-Risk Youth Study (ARYS) at the BC Centre on Substance Use and a doctoral student in the Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program at the University of British Columbia. Andreas’s current research examines the interplay between public policy, economic security, and health among street-involved youth with the intent of informing future health, social, and economic policy decisions. Prior to his involvement with ARYS, he completed a Master’s degree in Public Policy and worked as a frontline worker and researcher in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Andreas was born and raised on the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples, in East Vancouver.
