Michelle Olding

Michelle Olding, MPH, is a Research Assistant with the BC Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU) and a doctoral student in the Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where she is supervised by Drs. Ryan McNeil and Jeannie Shoveller. Her dissertation research uses ethnographic methods to investigate how socio-legal dynamics are shaping the implementation, operation and effectiveness of overdose prevention interventions. Prior to her studies at UBC, Michelle served as a project coordinator at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University and a Masters of Public Health in Social and Behavioural Health Sciences from the University of Toronto. Michelle’s research is currently supported through the Four Year Doctoral Fellowship program at UBC.
