- Evaluate whether slow-release oral morphine is appropriate for a given patient
- Safely and effectively transition a patient from buprenorphine/naloxone to slow-release oral morphine, in cases where these medications have not been beneficial
- Safely and effectively transition a patient from methadone to slow-release oral morphine, in cases where these medications have not been beneficial
- Determine when urine drug tests are clinically useful and appropriate during transitions between other opioid agonist treatment medications and slow-release oral morphine, and when to use them
