- Understand the prevalence and health impacts of alcohol use in Canada,
- Describe the continuum of risk associated with the number of drinks consumed and harm reduction approaches to minimize risk,
- Describe how risks and harms of alcohol use are influenced by sex-based physiological differences as well as gender-related factors,and
- Understand risks and recommendations related to alcohol use among specific populations, including youth and people who are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breast-feeding.

Providers hear expert advice guided by the latest evidence, share resources, expand collective knowledge, and enhance expertise in the treatment and management of substance use disorders.
