10am – 11am PST
High-risk drinking, alcohol use disorder (AUD), and alcohol-related harms are frequently unrecognized and untreated in Canada.
The Canadian Research Initiative in Substance Misuse has developed a clinical guideline with recommendations for identification, intervention, management, and ongoing care of youth and adults with high-risk drinking and AUD. The Guideline was developed by a national committee of multi-disciplinary experts, including people with lived and living experience.
Join us for an hour long presentation that will provide an overview of the new guideline and practical tips for implementing the recommendations in a primary care setting. The webinar will cover strategies for screening and diagnosis, as well as the range of treatment options, along with the evidence behind each of these strategies. We will also share new tools and resources that will support you to provide evidence-based care for people with AUD.
