Jenna Valleriani, PhD is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the BC Centre on Substance Use on the Qualitative and Community Based Research Team. In her position as a Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Valleriani is interested in cannabis and drug policy, focusing on a variety of topics such as instrumental uses of cannabis and community based access programs. Her past research experience has drawn on extensive qualitative interviewing and ethnographic field work, and for her dissertation, investigated the evolving regulatory approach to medical cannabis in relation to social movements, focusing on delineating the roles of key actors in the emerging industry. Dr. Valleriani also works closely with youth interested in drug policy as a Strategic Advisor for Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy, and recently presented on the implications of cannabis legalization for young Canadians to the Senate of Canada.
