Kate Jaffe

Kate Jaffe, MA, is a Research Assistant with the BC Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU) and a doctoral student in the Department of Sociology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Her research interests include HIV, medicalization, gender, and applying intersectional frameworks to health research. At the BCCSU Kate works for Dr. Lindsey Richardson on several studies, most recently on a project exploring medical research participation among marginalized populations (Research Participation Study). Prior to beginning her studies at UBC, Kate received a Master of Arts degree in social science from the University of Chicago and served as a Research Project Coordinator at the Chicago Center for HIV Elimination.
