Pauline Voon, BSN, RN, is a Research Associate with the BC Centre on Substance Use, as well as a registered nurse and Trudeau and Vanier Scholar at the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia, where her PhD research is supervised by Drs. Thomas Kerr and Jane Buxton. She is also a former Addiction Nursing Fellow with the St. Paul’s Hospital Goldcorp Addiction Nursing Fellowship. Her research focuses on the intersection between chronic pain and addiction, and the role that clinical pain management practices may play in driving prescription opioid and other drug use, high-risk drug use behaviours, and health outcomes among people who use illicit drugs. She has also contributed to the development of clinical guidelines, reports, and grants related to addiction research, education, and care in BC.
