It’s time to face up to the unavoidable costs of addictions

It would be terrible enough if Canada’s and British Columbia’s only addiction problem were people dying from poisoned street drugs. But it’s not.

People are dying because they can’t get treatment when they need it. They’re dying because recovery services are difficult to find, expensive to access and not well regulated.
