Understanding Drug Use and Evaluating Harm Reduction Interventions

The presenters will discuss several studies to give examples on how to: 1) better understand the socio-epidemiology of drug use, 2) evaluate interventions aimed at reducing risks from drug use, and 3) conduct community-based research that aligns with the needs of the community.
The “Research & Dialogue” speaker series places substance use research in dialogue with lived experience to put the latest evidence into real world context. The sessions feature a research presentation, a response situated in lived and living experience, and a then Q&A with attendees.
We invite anyone with an interest in the substance use field to attend this speaker series. This includes people with lived and living experience, their friends and family, frontline responders, program and service providers, clinicians, policy makers, researchers and their staff, the media, and anyone in the general public.
