Think Twice! The (lack of) evidence for opioid analgesics to treat minor acute chronic pain

The UBC Innovation Support Unit, in collaboration with BCCSU and Therapeutics Initiatives, is hosting three webinars that will examine opioid sparing approaches in the context of primary care for non-cancer pain.

September 15 @ 5:30pm

September 29 @ 5:30pm

October 13 @ 12:00pm

Please note: Interested participants need only register for one of the above webinars

Learning objectives:

  1. Describe and differentiate the evidence regarding opioid analgesia for serious acute injury vs minor acute injury and chronic pain
  2. Describe opioid sparing approaches
  3. Assess the utility and limitations of risk prediction tools
  4. Determine whether individuals at low risk of developing opioid use disorder can be reliably identified before prescribing opioid analgesics
