Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize the clinical presentations suggestive of opioid-induced endocrinopathies, such as hypogonadism and adrenal insufficiency, and understand appropriate screening and diagnostic approaches.
  2. Develop a foundational understanding of the mechanisms by which opioids impact the hypothalamic-pituitary-end organ axes and contribute to related endocrine disorders.
  3. Review current evidence on opioid-induced endocrinopathies, identify existing knowledge gaps, and become familiar with available clinical guidelines and resources for the management of these conditions.

What’s New in Addiction Medicine? is a lunch-time series featuring clinicians and researchers from BCCSU’s interdisciplinary fellowship program, who will deliver the latest research and information on novel, evidence-based addiction medicine topics.

This free series is geared towards the needs and interests of individuals operating in a healthcare or research setting, however, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
