Describe strategies for managing acute and subacute pain in hospitalized patients with opioid use disorder

Identify the clinical features and toxidrome of medetomidine exposure, including how it presents in intoxication and withdrawal and how it may differ from or overlap with opioid and other sedative exposures.

Explain the implications of medetomidine in the toxic drug supply, including challenges in detection, impacts on overdose management and withdrawal care, and considerations for harm reduction and clinical response in the current drug toxicity crisis.
