- Define emotional regulation and distress tolerance, and understand how these factors influence an individual’s experience using substances.
- Identify the core biopsychosocial vulnerabilities that predispose individuals to affective dysregulation.
- Apply a three-stage clinical framework (De-escalation, Stabilization, and Treatment) to effectively support long-term recovery.
