What’s New in Addiction Pharmacy is a lunch-time series featuring clinicians and researchers who will deliver the latest research and information on novel, evidence-based addiction medicine topics.

This free series is geared towards the needs and interests of individuals operating in a healthcare or research setting, however, the public and other interested stakeholders are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Learning objectives:

  1. Highlight the complex interplay between opioids, sugar and weight
  2. Review evidence associating OAT with sweet preference, metabolic syndrome, and glycemic control
  3. Review sugar content of various OAT preparations
  4. Highlight evidence associating OAT with dental caries
