Department of Family Medicine member and addictions researcher receives BCCFP award

Congratulations to Dr. Keith Ahamad for winning the 2016 British Columbia College of Family Physician Researcher award.
In addition to his research with the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, with a focus in addictions medicine, Dr. Ahamad is also a member of PHC’s Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Ahamad’s primary care and addiction medicine care and research has substantially impacted care locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. Dr. Ahamad “embodies the characteristics that are essential for success as a family practice clinician researcher.” According to the BCCFP, this includes: research excellence, mentorship, teaching, teamwork, knowledge translation and dissemination, clinical excellence, collaboration, commitment to the community and the ability to build relationships.
