Keira St. George, RN, BN, MPH
Acting Associate Director, Education and Clinical Activities
Keira is a first generation White settler living on the traditional and unceded territory of the Ləkʷəŋən (“place to smoke herring”) speaking peoples of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, who used to freely travel, fish, and gather resources in this once-heavily-forested wilderness.
Keira co-leads the programs that plan, implement, disseminate, and evaluate substance use education and clinical activities, and helps fosters the professional wellness of the skilled individuals who contribute to these programs. These programs include online training, podcasts and webinars, and various resources and guidance documents for healthcare providers.
With many years of nursing practice and leadership across multiple health authorities, Keira brings diverse perspectives to this role alongside meaningful connections with people who use drugs and their families and other harm reduction and substance use providers. Keira strives to humanize substance use care by highlighting the necessity of compassion and meaningful interactions, and upholding the voices of the people for whom her work is intended to serve.
